We understand that education is today, more than ever, a necessary condition for social inclusion and sustainable development. By introducing a new perspective into the field of education and development, the GLOBED master's degree aims to respond to the challenges facing education in the context of globalisation.
It is not only new knowledge that is required, but also a new sensitivity in the field of education and development. For this reason, this Master’s degree will provide students with the necessary grounding and experience to work in this field, as well as a broader perspective and greater critical analysis skills.
Together with other international students, you will study at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona during the first semester and at the University of Glasgow, the University of Bremen or the University of Cyprus during the second semester. In addition, you will participate in the Winter School at the University of Cyprus.
As part of this two-year programme, you will also gain experience from a work placement at one of our partner organisations, which include international organisations, NGOs and research centres. Finally, the fourth semester focuses on writing your Master's dissertation, which will be supervised by a member of the consortium.
Career options
The professional opportunities available to graduates are both multiple and varied, in an ever-changing professional field with growing needs. Specifically, GLOBED graduates can work in development aid agencies as specialists in programme design, implementation, and evaluation. They can also work in international or national NGOs or apply for permanent or temporary contracts with international organisations. Furthermore, the methodological learning acquired enables graduates to look for professional opportunities in the field of data analysis. Finally, graduates will also be able to continue their academic career by taking part in doctoral programmes if they choose to do so.
