Published offer of English and Catalan courses in 2023-2024 free of charge for academic staff of the UAB

Research Papers (face-to-face and live online): course aimed at developing the skills needed to write academic articles in English. Covers questions related to use of the appropriate vocabulary, grammar and syntax required. Start date: 24 October 2023.
Presenting Research (face-to-face): course aimed at reinforcing presentation skills in English in meetings, workshops, seminars and conferences. Start date: 24 October 2023.
English for Teaching Purposes (face-to-face): course for university teaching staff to be able to teach their subjects in English. Start date: 18 October 2023.
English Pronunciation for Teachers (live online): course for improving aspects of pronunciation and stress in English. There is an initial diagnostic session both individual and in groups. The course places emphasis on specific needs such as the pronunciation of terms in specialist academic areas. Start date: 11 December 2023.
Preparation PDI Training Exam for Teaching in English (face-to-face): preparation sessions for the university examination that accredits the necessary language skills to be able to carry out teaching activities in English at the university. Start date: 10 January.
Preparation for the Sufficiency Exam for PDI (Level C1): sessions aimed at familiarising students with the characteristics of the examination for the Sufficiency certificate in Catalan for PDI. Start date: 13 January 2024.
Beginner’s level (Inicial) to Level C2 courses: all Catalan courses are subsidised 100% for academic staff at the UAB. The courses start on the following dates:
- Inicial. Start date: 18 September 2023.
- Bàsic (A2). Start date: 18 September 2023.
- Elemental (B1). Start date: 9 October 2023.
- Intermedi (B2). Start date: 11 October 2023.
- Preparation for Level C1 examination. Start date: 17 October 2023.
- Preparation for Level C2 examination. Start date: 25 October 2023.
- Suficiència (C1) Start date: 19 September 2023.
- Superior (C2). Start date: 19 September 2023.
Enrolment for English courses and for the Preparation for the Sufficiency Exam in Catalan (Level C1) is online and enrolment for Catalan courses from ‘Inicial’ to Level C2 is in person.
