The 2009/10 student's guide on a solidary USB pendrive
17.09.2009 Benefits  -  All first-year students at UAB received the 2009/10 Student's Guide on a solidary USB flash drive from their faculty. The UAB is the first university in Catalonia to hand out the Students' Guide on a portable storage device.

For the past two years UAB's Economic Development and Business Office has been in charge of preparing these solidary USB flash drives in collaboration with Intermón Oxfam, an organisation which gives 12% of their value to educational projects in Mozambique and Angola.

With this solidary USB drive, UAB makes it easier for students to check their syllabus and other information about their faculty in addition to offering a storage device they can keep for later use. Another important factor of this solidary initiative is the consequent reduction in the environmental impact of having to print out the guides and a saving of over two tonnes of paper.

This is the second year UAB hands out the Student's Guide to all of its first-year students, and it is still the only university in Catalonia to have adopted this measure, which helps both the environment and its students.
