Summary: This study of the legal aspects of genetic engineering applied to agriculture explains how the agreement on aspects of Intellectual Property Rights related to Commerce moot the initial purpose of agricultural biotechnology of “curing” hunger in the world. It also reviews the new protocols of the Conference of the Parties in the agreement of the Convention on Biological Diversity, which implies a change in discourse about it, and therefore the author emphasises the need for compliance and recommends governance of transgenic products to reduce environmental and social risks currently inherent in them.
This work received an award in the fifth edition of the Prize for Research in Human Rights, which is convened annually by the Department of Government and Institutional Relations.

Notícies sobre evolució: la teoria i els nous coneixements

Apart from being Emeritus Professor of Ecology at the UAB, founder member of CREAF and member of IEC, he has held several relevant positions, such as first president of the Asociación Española de Ecología Terrestre, vice president of the Institució Catalana d’Història Natural and member of the Consell de Protecció de la Natura de la Generalitat. Summary: The development of knowledge in molecular, genomic and epigenetic biology, developmental biology, microbiology, ecology and behavioural sciences and in many other fields, provides a flood of information to the sector of evolution. For some prominent scientists, the prevailing paradigm for seventy years - Modern Synthesis or neo-Darwinism - cannot integrate much of the new knowledge, and evolution goes far beyond processes of mutation and selection. Others defend the paradigm, but it is clear that every day fascinating discoveries are made which this theory must take on. This book is an effort to grasp the situation and a preparation to understand and follow the news in a field that is key to all biological disciplines.

Summary: Because nothing  can remain hidden underground, we must continue stirring and overturning fixed scenes imposed on citizens by undemocratic powers. Sitting on the remains of a constantly changing landscape, we imagine how to continue nurturing our idealism and where to find partnerships that serve as blunt plane and real counterpower. Revoltes is the name of a book of conversations between Iago Otero and Itziar González. A book about new forms of political and social organisation. A proposal to deal with corruption and undemocratic powers. We must continue moving and in constant rebellion.
