STUDENTS WITH FOREIGN PRE-UNIVERSITY QUALIFICATIONS

If you have foreign qualifications you may apply to the UAB, but you must first validate your qualifications in Spain. If you are already in Spain, contact your nearest Government Delegation or Sub-Delegation. If you are outside Spain, contact your nearest Spanish Embassy or Consulate.

If the validation you obtain is equivalent to the Spanish Bachillerato (High School, Baccalaureate, etc.), you must take the University Entrance Examinations (PAU). The Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) organises exams specifically for foreign students.

If the equivalent you are granted is a CFGS (advanced vocational qualification), you will be able to enter the three-year courses and some specific four-year courses. You should contact the Pre-Registration Office to request a place.

The Ministry of Education and Science provides more information on entrance requirements, regulations, required documents, making your documents official and obtaining official translations.

For some countries there are official tables used to compare pre-university studies with the Spanish system. If your country is included, you can see what Spanish equivalent you are most likely to be granted for your qualifications.

You can save time by printing out the form you need to fill in when requesting validation of pre-university qualifications.
