Built from the old masía can Miró, the Graduate School is a multipurpose space equipped with state-of-the-art technology, conceived both as an educational and a social environment where students, professors, professionals and researchers may find the ideal context for top-level learning.

Built atop the old masia can Miró, the Graduate School merges tradition and modern life to offer facilities specifically designed for graduate education on the UAB campus.

Thus, a new annexed building, was erected side by side of the old masia. The solution devised by prestigious architect Eduard Bru to integrate both buildings into a unified design was to place the new structure below the ground level of the can Miró adapting it to the uneven terrain, which resulted in a large base of hard materials. The curved design gives the new building a clear formal agility contrasting with the simplicity of the masia, and visually directing attention to it.

The annexed building provides several classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Specifically, it accommodates six classrooms for 24 students, one for 70, a meeting room for 22 and several areas for administration and management. In addition to the regular equipment, all classrooms are outfitted with telematics connections, and the entire building has wireless internet connection. Finally, the masía lodges the offices of the Graduate School Director and part of Registrar´s Office.

All together, almost 3,000 m2 dedicated to graduate services, administration and teaching.. A space thoroughly adapted to the demands of the 21st. Century.
