Program Structure

The doctoral studies in Geography, together with the previous academic training programmes, the official Masters in Land and Population Studies, make up the PhD in Geography.

In addition to the information on this page, you may learn more by visiting the site of the official Master´s degree, where you will find general and specific objectives of each course, the course structure and names of courses, their content, the number of credits and other information that may be of interest (name of the coordinator, contact information, administrative staff, etc.).

This programme is fully adapted to the new European Area of Higher Education (EAHE) framework and makes it possible to earn the official PhD from the UAB.

General information

Mention to Excellence

This PhD Programhas obtained the prestigious “Distinction to Excellence”, awarded by the Ministry of Education. This distinction is valid for courses scheduled 2011-2012, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.

This distinction allows the Program to submit calls on mobility Grants for students and teachers, as well as other various public benefits.

PhD Studies Committee:

The duties of the PhD Studies Committee are taken on by the Department's Executive Committee, plus the Master coordinator.

The coordinator and vice-coordinator of the Third Stage and the Official Master in Land and Population Studies are permanent members of this Committee.
