Postgraduate UAB > Masters and graduate certificates > Nursing and physical therapy > Master in psychiatric and mental health nursing
Western societies with high levels of technology have generated a lifestyle that is characterised by, among other things, a high level of stress and this has led to an increase in mental health problems.
It is calculated that some 20% of the population suffers from a mental health problem in their life, and this means that more material and human resources are necessary to meet the needs of people with mental health problems.
Since the 1960s the changes that occurred in ways of dealing with mental illnesses using all types of resources has been major, and that is why it is important to continue moving forward and facing the challenge of our present lifestyle. Training professionals in psychiatry and mental health to face the current demand and to help people to enjoy a better state of health is important.
