Master in Mediation: Community Mediation Specialization
The School of Educational Sciences has to date graduated eight classes with a Graduate Certificate in Mediation in the Social-educational Environment.
This graduate certificate has been validated by the Private Law Mediation Centre in the Justice Department of the Generalitat de Catalonia by virtue of the previous Law of Family Mediation of Catalonia 1/2001 of March 15.
Validation has made it possible for students to enter the mediator registry of the Generalitat of Catalonia. This validation required students to take a curriculum established by the Generalitat for 220 hours.
The new law 15/2009, of July 22, on mediation in the area of private law, mandates a new curriculum and increases the number of teaching hours. The increase in hours has forced us to go from a graduate certificate to a Master's degree for our students to earn a degree validated by the Department of Justice.
In order to enrich the basic training and professional practice of the various educational agents, this programme is structured in four major areas of work: theory, practical seminars, areas of application and research.
