The course focuses on two objectives: type design and page design based on typography.
Module 1, dedicated to type design, aims at deepening knowledge of type, from its history to its forms, through practial courses such as Calligraphy, Lettering, Digital Construction and Alphabet Architecture, together with lectures on the History of Typography and several sessions on Paleotypography, Fonts, and Pyton Programming.

Module 2 aims to study the use of typography as a graphic element to design the page and structure the publications through practical courses such as Press Design, Magazine Planning and Art Direction, together with lectures on the History of the Page and sessions on Infography, Type Cannon and Orthotypograhy.

Knowledge acquired in both modules will allow the student to develop a final project under the guidance of professors in two parts: a typographical design and a publication design.

A degree is required.

Eligible candidates are those with advanced degrees in design and fine arts graduates, and it is open to professionals in design, publishing, media, advertising, image, and in general students who wish learn more about this subject. In the event candidates do not meet any of the above conditions, they must submit a CV, including references to their own artwork. These documents will be reviewed by the course coordinator to determine eligibility.

Since this is a professional advanced Master, prior knowledge of graphic design and typography, as well as experience using design software (Quark-Xpress, In design) is required. Prior experience in type design or font design software is not necessary.
