The Master in Landscape Management for Land Use and Environmental Planning is a specialized professional program, and it aims at training experts capable of developing landscape planning and management projects, and skills to integrate and manage multidisciplinary teams engaged in landscape management.
Training landscape management experts is a social and professional requirement recognized by the Council of Europe, which approved the European Landscape Convention in the year 2000.
Likewise, landscape policy has become one of the major goals of public administration within the land use planning and regulation framework.
The master in Landscape Management for Land Use and Environmental Planning offers an inter-professional approach to deal with the methods of analysis and interpretation of the landscape, design and planning fundamentals, landscape production in different environments (rural, urban, metropolitan and protected areas), together with the legal, economic and environmental and landscape management tools, taking into account the different social, cultural and tourism aspects.
The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, through the Master in Landscape Management and Land Use and Environment Planning, is a founding member of UNISCAPE, the European University Network for the Implementation of the European Landscape Convention, which develops joint training and research projects on landscape issues in the European context.
This graduate programme is aimed at students with a degree in science (geography, biology and geology), technical sciences (environmental science, architecture and engineering), or law, economics and political science who are currently developing or wish to develop a career in the area of landscape, land planning, urban planning and environmental management.
It is also aimed at officers and professionals in state institutions and organizations working in the area of landscape planning and management, urban planning, environmental management, and who have the proper credentials.
Lastly, it is meant for people working in the private sector (consulting, offices, etc.) whose job is to work on landscape planning.
Basic higher education in any of the specified areas is required.

- Private professional architecture and urban planning, engineering and infrastructure, and landscape studios.
