The graduate certificate in equestrian rehabilitation was launched in the 1999-2000 academic year with the purpose of introducing a different method within physical therapy techniques.
From the start, the Gimbernat University School of Physical Therapy and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, together with its faculty, have invested great efforts to improve the quality of teaching year after year. The experience of the previous years has allowed us to assess the positive factors of therapy and go further into them. Developing and transfering them has been possible thanks to the multidisciplinary team of professionals taking part in the course.
To achieve these goals, we collaborate with the Catalan Equestrian Federation, the Catalan Physical Therapists College, the Severino Equestrian Centre, the Agrarian and Equestrian Training School (ECAE), and Arabian Horse Breeders, Complutum Arabians.
Our challenge, once the course is finished, is that doctors, occupational therapists and physical therapists have acquired the expected training and are able to put it into practice at the highest professional level.
