Postgraduate UAB > Masters and graduate certificates > Medicine > Graduate certificate in dependence and domiciliary care
During the 20th century and at the start of the 21th, there have been many demographic and socio-anthropological factors that have caused changes to the health system, and more specifically, in the area of home care.
On one hand, demographic changes derived from lower birth rates, higher life expectancy and increasing numbers of senior citizens, and on the other, socio-anthropological changes that have modified the family system and model, care of the patient and family involvement in treatment.
The country's health policy is geared towards integrated and continuous care of the patient and family, fostering domiciliary care as the backbone of care giving and developing new domiciliary care resources. This approach has been reinforced by the Personal Autonomy and Care for People in a Dependency Situation Act.
