One of the UAB Library Services main objectives is to give maximum quality when rendering services. In September of 1999, we joined the evaluation process of the library services of all of the Catalan public universities, promoted by the CBUC and the Agency for Quality of the Catalan University System.

The certification process, in accordance with the ISO 9000 standards, was also chosen as a route to improving quality. The ISO 9002 certification was obtained in 2000 and since 2003 our systems of quality have had the ISO 9001 certification. We have a menu of services available that explains the services offered at the libraries and the objectives for quality followed. With this as its philosophy, the Library Services also participated in the experience of the UAB?s improvement groups. 

Surveys are periodically taken to measure the degree of user satisfaction with respect to services.

The focus on quality is present as well in all of the facets of the Library Services Strategic Plan. Moreover, in 2003, the Library Services obtained the Certificate of Quality granted by the Direcció General d'Universitats.
