What is expected of you

Under the new system lecturing hours are reduced (classroom hours) and participative lectures increase in the form of seminars, reduced group lectures, debates and oral presentations.

More importance is given to the student's learning process. Lecturers will be guiding the process, but it will be the students who will formulate opinions, solve problems, consult doubts and put into practice what they are learning. Students take on a more active and participative role during the whole learning process: creating a study schedule, following each course programme, organising the information received and actively participating in groups or individually by keeping up to date with projects and taking the maximum advantage of lecturing hours.

For this reason EHEA represents a new manner of teaching and learning where students take on a more prominent role and work on preparing their material before attending lectures. Students will have a series of activities in which they can actively participate such as group works, case studies, projects and problem-based learning; which implies a very different approach to the typical lectures where students listen and take notes.

Students will undergo a continuous and independent learning process throughout the academic year which will be monitored to make sure everyone acquires the same level of knowledge and abilities. A continuous assessment system will take into account the effort put into projects, study hours, seminars, works in group, tutorials, etc. and not only the results of final exams.
