Introduction

  • Possess and understand the theoretical, scientific, practical, technological and methodological basics for the exercise, development and ongoing improvement of podiatry.
  • Apply the knowledge acquired in a professional way to the practice of podiatry and possess the capacity and skills required to diagnose, prescribe, indicate, perform, elaborate and evaluate any type of podiatric, orthopodiatric, chiropodiatric, podiatric surgery, physical, pharmacologic or preventive treatment in the education, health and social environments.
  • Collect and interpret relevant data on podiatry in order to be able to issue judgements that include reflections regarding matters of social, scientific or ethical relevance; acting at all times on the basis of the accomplishment of the deontological obligations of the profession, current legislation, the criteria of good practice and equality among people.
  • Have the capacity to transmit one’s knowledge, information, ideas, problems and solutions to a specialised and non-specialised audience, fostering interrelations with multidisciplinary teams and efficient communication with the patient. All of this plus the knowledge of a third language.
  • Continue progressing through self-teaching as an instrument of development, innovation and responsibility through continuing training.
