The activity forms part of the research project "Estat i dinàmiques nacionals a Espanya (1931-1978)", of which Xavier Domènech and Francesc Vilanova, lecturers in modern history at the UAB, are the main researchers.

The meeting aims to debate different tensioning elements and proposals related to the connections between several national projects and the state of Spain, from a historical and also international point of view.

On Wednesday 15 May, a meeting will take place with the participation of Josep Ramoneda, director of the European School of Humanities, and Xavier Domènech, historian from the CEDID. The first session will include the participation of Michel Martínez, lecturer in the Department of Languages and Cultures at the Université Toulouse Capitole and Ferran Archilés, lecturer in the Department of Modern History of the University of Valencia. The conference is entitled “Quins factors expliquen que Espanya sigui un dels països europeus amb més projectes nacionals en pugna?” [What factors explain why Spain is one of the European countries with more national projects in conflict?].

This will be followed by a second session with Francesc Vilanova, lecturer of Modern History at the UAB, and Vicent Scheltiens, lecturer in History at the University of Antwerp, with the title: “Com s’ha desenvolupat la interacció entre l’Estat espanyol i els diversos projectes nacionals?” ["How has the interaction between the Spanish State and the various national projects developed?]
